Developed over 20 years, our approach to French teaching creates a truly immersive experience that is shown to improve learning and confidence.
Centred around excursions and day trips to attractions and historical sites, your group will be out each day exploring everything the Normandy region has to offer. An added bonus is that your group will be escorted by our own local French animateurs, who will guide students in English or French, to create an authentic French experience. You can also choose to spend a day using the adventure facilities at Château de la Baudonnière.
The Normandy Experience programme is designed for students to experience the local history and culture of Normandy through a series of excursions and visits. Whether you are looking for a French language immersion, history or a cross-curricula tour, we will use our local knowledge of Normandy to recommend suitable activities, excursions and accommodation to suit your group’s needs.
French learners on our Normandy Experience have plenty of opportunities to interact with the local community and use their French language in an authentic setting. All excursions, activities and evening entertainments are led by our native-speaking animateurs, in French, and each student will receive a French workbook to complete during their time away. A typical 5-day programme offers a variety of immersive French language activities such as a market mission to a local town as well as the chance to experience memorable local sights such as UNESCO World Heritage site, Mont Saint-Michel, or the Bayeaux Tapestry.
Schools can also spend a day at our French centre, Château de la Baudonnière, to take part in on-site activities. Students will benefit from a varied and enjoyable tour while making substantial improvements in their French and gaining greater confidence in using it.
Our history tours of Normandy offer a fantastic opportunity for history students to gain a first-hand understanding of Anglo-French history. Bring your history lessons to life by exploring the Bayeaux Tapestry, the WW1 Battlefields of the Somme, or the D-Day landing beaches or Upper Normandy. Due to the abundance of important historical sites in the region, we can work with you to really tailor an itinerary that will complement your history lessons, while offering students an authentic taste of Normandy culture and produce. What makes Normandy Experience different than other Normandy school trips is that your group will be accompanied at all times by one of our experienced local animateur who can lead your students in either English or French for a totally authentic experience.
