Tailor your tour to your personal preferences
We have developed our Normandy Experience tours to provide you with menus of visits, activities and accommodation entirely supported by our French native staff. A well planned and well balanced tour takes account of your own preferences as well as our experience in delivering programmes that work well.
Please note: We restrict our Normandy Experience programme to a maximum of 2 schools per week, so we can give each group individual and personal attention throughout your tour.
1. Length of tour and start day options
You can choose a four, five or six day tour for the week you have decided upon, and you can choose the day you travel out. Your ‘French is Fun!’ Château day or days will be allocated to you by your co-ordinator, depending on your start day and length of tour.
"Above all, the whole French experience was very much enjoyed by our children. After ten previous French trips this was the one the children have gained most in terms of language and confidence and I think the one they have enjoyed most." Mr T Cooke, Party Leader
2. Bon Voyage
We will arrange all aspects of your travel to Normandy using coaches and Brittany Ferries on the ‘long sea’ route between Portsmouth and Caen, Cherbourg or St Malo. This coach and boat combination from your school to the French location is included in the price and has the luxury of avoiding extensive road journey times in France and suits the vast majority of our groups.
However, we recognise that some schools like to explore other options including Eurostar to Rennes, flying to Dinard, or even the Dover-Calais ferry crossings. To see how these travel arrangements might work, and explore alternative prices, please contact us directly.
3. Coach and Guide
As you have a full time, dedicated tour guide and a coach at your disposal in France, your trip is fully supported in every way.
4. Accommodation options
Using our local knowledge, we have selected a range of venues to suit all ages and sizes of groups. Whichever one you’re based in, your group will receive a warm, French welcome. You’ll find more details about this on pages 6 and 7.
5. Château ‘French is Fun!’ Options
During your time at the Château de la Baudonnière you will participate in onsite activities from the following list : Canoeing, Archery, Climbing, Fencing, Bread Making, Orienteering, Nature Trail, Assault Course, Mountain Biking, Initiative Exercises and all will be delivered in French by our native French speaking fully qualified instructors.
6. Cultural Visit options
Normandy has a wealth of historical sites, all well organised for educational tours, and we have pre-organised day trips to them all for you to choose from. You’ll find five of the most popular on pages 8 and 9, with many more on our informative website.
