"Prendre" is the French verb meaning "to take." It is used when asking for food.
Qu'est-ce que vous prenez? = What do you take? (To eat?)

"Manger" is the French verb meaning "to eat."
Je mange de la viande et des frites.= I eat steak and fries.

The French word "faim" expresses hunger.
J'ai tres faim! = I am very hungry!
